I am proud to announce the winner of the Land4homes, win a free turkey Christmas competition.
Thanks to all of you who took time out to ungobble a gabbler and provide us with your prime turkey cuts.
After much deliberation the most plucky entry, and with it the prize of a succulent 25 pounder, went to Stuart Lever of Club Design (pictured far right). Or at least it would have done. Unfortunately Stuart’s wife Sharon served up turkey for the first three years of their marriage and according to Stuart he’s never touched the bird since.
After some further deliberation we decided the bird should, in keeping with the spirit of Christmas, go to a deserving home.
On the 20th of December the turkey, which had by now travelled further afield than it had for its entire life, was delivered in a black plastic bin liner by yours truly Jonathan Sharp to the Salvation Army bail hostel in Wilmott Street, Manchester.
Much to the surprise of the residing manager I declined the offer of a free bed for the night.
On hearing that he had won the competition Stuart said and I quote: "I hope you are not going to print what I wrote".
You can find Stuart’s entry under Planning Officer in the on-line dictionary.
Happy New Year!
